YesterMorrow by developer Bitmap Galaxy is unfortunately not one of those games. In YesterMorrow we play as Yui, who must stop the shadows from corrupting her village and family. I’m a time-travel fanatic in games, so the concept of traveling between fixed points in time in a platformer was a cool sell. YesterMorrow is a newer indie game on the Nintendo Switch by developers Bitmap Galaxy. The wonderful reality of Indie games is that they can have a ton of flexibility to be creative, even with smaller budgets. The way the abilities are used in tandem is very satisfying and the game… But what makes YesterMorrow worth playing is the excellent level design and platforming. If you have any photosensitivity or a history of epilepsy I strongly recommend that you don’t play this game. A side-scrolling adventure, its main twist is the ability to jump between two separate timelines, spaced several years apart. So, when I saw the trailer for YesterMorrow, I was really intrigued. YesterMorrow is probably one of the hardest platforming games of 2020.This 2D platforming game made by Bitmap Galaxy had me raging, but it also did a fantastic job of keeping me playing due to how addictive it is.. While there is a possibility for a decent platformer here it is sadly hidden among numerous performance issues tainting any potential it has. It’s a very unique puzzle-platformer, but with all of the issues and the asking price of $19.99 / £16.19, I can’t really recommend it in this state. On paper, YesterMorrow is a really neat concept for a game. During this review, the game received a patch, and I haven’t seen any of the graphics glitches since then — they plagued the early game, with random flashing and distortion, so hopefully that’s the end of that. Games like Alwa’s Legacy, Ary and the Secret of Seasons, and going back to play Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, have really fed this craving.
